As a leading intermodal transport company, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and fostering a greener future. Over the past year, we have taken significant steps in this direction, notably through the development of combined transport by trains and the addition of two new electric trucks to our fleet.
Key achievements:
- Significant CO2 reduction: Over the past year, our combined transport strategy has saved 31, 419,000 kilograms of CO2.
This is equivalent to removing 7,400 passenger cars from the road for an entire year and it is also the same amount of CO2 that 1.5 million trees would absorb from the atmosphere.
- Introduction of electric trucks: Our company invested last year in two new electric trucks, further enhancing its green transport capabilities.
Only these trucks are reducing the company’s carbon footprint in urban and regional deliveries with more than 81 000 kg of CO2.
- Predictable and efficient operations: By leveraging rail transport and operating our own train terminal, we have not only reduced emissions but also improved the predictability of our logistics operations.
This allows us to swiftly address any issues that might occur, ensuring reliability and efficiency for our customers.
- Scalability: Our use of trains has demonstrated scalability, allowing us to handle larger volumes of goods without a proportional increase in emissions, thus supporting our growth sustainably.

The high costs associated with new technologies and the aggressive competition in the logistics sector have caused considerable challenges. - Financial investment: We have allocated substantial resources to acquire electric trucks and enhance our rail transport capabilities, viewing these costs as essential investments in our future and green transport solutions for our customers.

Routier European Transport’s future includes the development and expansion of additional intermodal routes originating from the new terminal in Oradea.
